WHY GRASS?

The next big thing
is growing under your feet.

Ordinary grass. Extraordinary possibilities. We turn grass fibres into a new generation of growing media. For people who want to grow something better.

GROWN. CUT. REIMAGINED.
NATURE HAS ALREADY DONE THE R&D.

A family built to thrive.

Almost 12,000 species. From rice and wheat to the grass under your feet. Grasses are one of nature’s great success stories. Their diversity gives us a remarkable starting point for new materials.

Built to grow again.

Many grasses can regrow after cutting because their growing points remain protected near the base. Species, timing and cutting height matter. Renewable starts with good management.

Why dig, when you can grow?

A growing medium can start with a different kind of resource. Grass grows back. Its fibres give us a renewable starting point for rethinking what surrounds your roots.

01 · RENEWABLE BY NATURE

It grows back.

Grass is a plant-based resource we can regrow. That makes it an exciting starting point for alternatives to peat and mineral growing media.

02 · CLOSER TO HOME

Big potential. Local roots.

Grass is all around us. We’re building a growing-media approach around locally available fibres and collaboration with growers.

03 · MORE FROM THE SAME GRASS

Every fraction has a future.

From structured fibres for plugs and slabs to smaller fractions for pellets and potting mixes. We look for a useful next step for every part.

GOOD IDEAS NEED ROOTS.

Your crop. Your system. A new possibility.

Choosing grass starts with curiosity. Making it work starts with your crop. We develop and test GramiGrow with growers, looking at moisture, irrigation and root development in real growing conditions.

Start small. Learn something. Grow further.

A trial gives you something concrete: experience with your own crop, in your own setup. Together, we can explore the next step.

SMALL FIBRES. BIG POSSIBILITIES.

Cellulose. Nature’s material platform.

Cellulose is made of long chains of glucose assembled into strong microfibrils. Together with hemicellulose and lignin, it helps build the structure of grass cell walls. The opportunity is to turn that structure into useful material functions.

Keep the fibre. Unlock the function.

For growing media, we work with grass fibres and their physical structure. Formulation and processing determine how a material handles water, air and roots. That is why crop trials come first.

Beyond the growing tray.

Research already demonstrates grass-cellulose fibres in paper. Wider plant-fibre research explores packaging and biocomposites. More intensive fractionation opens routes to chemical building blocks. These are wider research opportunities, not a claim that GramiGrow offers every application today.

THE GRASS BUSINESS CASE.

One resource. More routes to value.

The business logic is simple: create useful products from the different fractions of grass, instead of asking one fraction to carry the whole business. The economics still have to work, from field to finished product.

01

Source smart.

Explore suitable regional grass streams. Consistent quality, clean feedstock, seasonality and transport distance shape the opportunity. Local only pays when the whole chain makes sense.

02

Give every fraction a job.

Our product direction: structured fibres for growing media, smaller fractions for pellets and grass-enhanced potting mixes. New applications are in development. Each route needs its own specifications and customers.

03

Make performance pay.

Compare value per kilogram of dry matter with collection, cleaning, processing, drying and logistics costs. Add repeatable crop performance and customer demand. A compelling material needs a compelling business model.

BIG AMBITION. REAL-WORLD PROGRESS.

Replace every fossil raw material tomorrow? Hell no.

But we can go a remarkable distance. Application by application. Grass offers routes towards plant-based materials, and growing media that rethink reliance on peat and mineral substrates. Different materials, different challenges, one serious ambition.

Test it. Improve it. Scale what works.

Plant-based does not automatically mean lower impact. Binders, energy, durability and end of life matter. We want evidence on performance, cost and environmental impact before making big promises.
